Aloha Friends,
It’s been a while. After taking quite a long and introspective break of my own, I feel inspired to pick up where I left off. I have been writing, writing, writing ~ but more as a self inquiry. So much to tell, so much I have learned through taking the time to re-stock my own well ~ learning to let go of things, possessions, committments that no longer serve my serve true purpose. Yet, those are all goodies of insight for another day.
I miss writing to those of you who enjoy reading these astrologically-based musings.
Tis the season to question all that is, all that ever was and all that is yet to come. Through nothing less than a complete purging of all that does not represent truth, we are giving our coin to the boatman and taking a fateful journey into our own destination.
Yes, it is Scorpio time. The Way of the Shaman. That deep, instrospetive, highly psychological time. Ghosts and goblins. Halloween and horror movies. Yes, it’s time to face the demons again.
What nuggets of gold will we re-discover as we dust off the tarnish of indescretion, guilt and shame that suffocate our starving Soul’s….begging for liberation from all that does not represent truth.
I love that scene in the Lion King where adolescent Simba is led on a soulful journey of truth by Scorpionic Shaman, Rafiki. Simba believes that he is going to meet his father, Mufasa, who has long since departed his physical presence on Earth through his untimely death, early in Simba’s life as a young, innocent lion cub.
Rafiki leads Simba to a pool of water. “Look, you will find him here.” Simba looks and looks ~ and in disappointment and shame, he lowers his head and says, “All I see is my own reflection.”
“Look harder,” begs Rafiki, as he swirls his magic stick and presses Simba along further into his fateful jouney.
At that point, Simba’s father appears as an image in the comsos. He tells his son, “You have forgotten who you are. You are the one true King.” Several passages of dialouge continue. The closing phrase is something like…
“Remember who you are.”
As Simba begs his father not to leave him again, the door to his guilt, shame and pain begin to close ~ and the doors to his true identity begin to open. The journey continues…
Remember who you are!
How many layers of unwanted, old stuffy garments are you suffocating underneath? How can you breathe life into the forgotten caverns of your Soul? How can you be true to yourselves, while still finding compassion for others? The truth is never to ugly to reveal…and only vampires and demons hide out in the dark. Sometimes, we too, must journey to the dark shadowy Universe within to face those vampires and demons. Call them out. Exposure to the light brings healing and liberation for all. With all parts of our psyche aligned and committed to working with ouselves, rather than against ourselves, we find triumph! We emerge fully transformed into a fully integrated and whole Self.
It’s a tall order, indeed. But it is one that I feel is necessary and requires our full attention! Our very sense of happiness, content and joy depend upon taking the journey into the unknown ~ the great mystery.
Fear is our own worst enemy. Fear of the unknown. Fear that those vampires and demons lurking below, in the recesses of our own darkness, might be more powerful than we are.
I have been working the Artist’s Way for close to 2 years now…and have recently begun the Vein of Gold. Both books are by Julia Cameron. Julia is an amazing writer and brilliant teacher, possibly the best I’ve encountered. Both books are an amazing and intimate way to begin to re-align with your own creativity and sense of authenticity. A spiritual, if not spiral path that leads back to the true naked Self ~ unfettered and unspoiled. Both books require a 12-week committment to working through the readings and task work involved…but the pay-off is exponential!
And, if all this sounds a little dramatic and like a bunch of over-the-top analogy,” ask yourself this: Am I happy in with my life ~ my relationships? my line of work? my health? my spirituality? romance? creativity? prosperity?
If not, why not? Who or what might be standing in the way?
The 30 day period each year when the Sun resides in the domain of Scorpio is just the time to seek this kind of inquiry.
Astrology is another great tool of self discovery, as your soul’s content and longing is spelled out in your natal chart. It’s kind of like a self-help manual of who you really are, in case you’ve forgotten ~ or in case others have repeatedly tried to convince you that you are something other than who you really are. Astrology is a powerful tool. In my opinion, the benefits of a good reading with a good practicioner are unrivaled by any other field of study. Of course, you can contact me at dawnelizabeth.ma@gmail.com if you would like a reading and catalyst to your personal truth.
So, in these last few weeks of the grand inquisition, presented Scorpio style, I challenge you to find out. Who are you? What are your inner-most desires? What do you long for? What do you want from this life?
Recall that Scorpio is the shaman, the detective, the natural psychologist ~ aimed at cutting and penetrating through even the thickest veils of deception, with finely sharpened knives ~ to reveal the deepest of Truths.
If you already have it all figured out ~ then great! Use this high powered time to fix your passion on a few particular pursuits and make it happen.
For many of us, it will be a combination of both. I believe that there are truly few of us who are not still operating under atleast a strong handful of the countless misconceptions spoon fed into our pysches since birth. It doesn’t mean that we are forever injured or rendered incapable of living our full potential. It is, however a compelling reason to engage ourselves in a higher level of consciousness ~ to become self-acuatulized.
To me, there is little work as important as becomming truly self-actualized. And, how lucky we are that our basic comforts are available that we can focus so much time on such a higher path. Gratitude is so important. If you are privileged enough to have a computer and have the time to read this, then I feel certain that you have already chosen to ride on a higher path.
So then, this is is a time of letting go. A time to gracefully surrender all that is not aligned on your true path. I don’t purport that this is an easy task, but I can attest that it is one that is well worth the effort.
Whatever we choose to sweep under the rug remains under the rug, gathering fungus and mold. Periodically, it’s necessary to “sweep out the dirt.” Pretending it’s not there doesn’t work. That’s called denial…and it leads to all kinds of ugly illnesses and diesease (dis-ease).
So get out and clearr those cobwebs, clear out your closets and clean the basement…
And, in a few weeks, when the Sun moves into happy-go-lucky Sagittarius, we will all feel much lighter, brighter, optimistic ~ seeking new adventure and wide open spaces! I promise!
Find your voice. Speak your truth. You don’t have to answer to anyone except yourself. Just be you. You are perfect in every essence. I deeply honor you and am with you on your path…
With much sincerity,
Dawn Elizabeth
